Hershey PA, today

Well, one week has gone by and time to catch up on us.

We mossied on down to Hershey last weekend to get our self sort of organised for the next couple of weeks when we will be blessed to have at first daughter Deanna and husband travel with us up to Maine and then the following week son Dennis will join us for a week of revisiting a Civil War site in Indiana.

Here we are staying in one of the better Thousand Trail Parks named Hershey but actually about 9 miles out. Like most of the TT Parks it has a nice wilderness feel to it. It is very busy, unusually so we are told because of the financial crises. Many locals are using this park instead of travelling further from home we were told by Kim the park manager.

Our site is a fine fully serviced 50 amp site situated high on a hill with tall trees at the back and a lovely view from the patio side down a steep incline.

Jim has taken care of a couple of minor Mr Fixit tasks and I have stocked up on groceries, done some laundry and cleaning but nothing major.

Saturday nite we played Bingo at the family center and Jim won a round! We took Tuesday off and hiked a 6 mile Rails to Trails path close by. We found out about it while looking for Geocaches close by. It is the Lebanon Valley R to T path that extends 12 miles through some forested area, over creeks and through some of the most beautiful and bountiful farmland ever. We found all 10 of the Geocaches along the section we walked, the weather agreeably clear and in the low 80's. We just loved it! That evening we went to a good local Cafe. A really fun day!

Today we went into town to pick up mail and stopped by Wal-Mart. Jim surprised me by buying me a really tiny little bright orange Fuji digital camera. Now I need to learn all about it. My first effort is the photo at the bottom taken from the patio.

The first one!!!

Today we are in New Hampshire but tomorrow we will be on the road again. Prior to 1993 we were hard working stay at home people who dreamed of travel but rarely had time, money or energy for it. After a close friend died suddenly we made a decision to set it all aside and hike the Appalachian Trail, a life changing experience. Since then we have not been able to really go back. We have volunteered in state and national parks, taken temporary jobs in touristy places, led caravans of RVers to exciting places but mostly we have lived on the road travelling from here to there. We don't have a real favorite part of the world but prefer warm spots in the winter and cool places in the summer.

We now live full time in our Pheaton RV and recently went to an FMCA Rally in Ohio where I took a computer course put on by Geeksontour. Really cool! One of the segments was how to do a blog, so I am now using my newly acquired knowledge to do just that.

Enough for the first one but we will try to return often. We hope to add photos and other stuff.
